How to Unlock a LG Shine phone off the AT&T network for FREE

I fully unlocked my phone off the AT&T network in 12 minutes!! FOR FREE!!
Why should I unlock my phone? you’re wondering.
Well,
It is no secret that service providers have hidden fee’s,
add- on costs and soo much and over time, what was a cheap
plan, all of a sudden becomes expensive. Time for a change.
But wait, now you go over to the competition, another GSM service
provider and they tell you: sure we will help you out and we will give
you this nice phone, but you have to sign a 3 year contract (Just a
little fact, the average life span of a cell phone is 1.5 years).
So what is your other option? Unlock your phone, take it over to the
new service provider and you do not have to sign a contract. I am
not a fan of contracts myself, I have not had a cell phone contract
in 9 years.
Second reason, You love your phone, like absolutely love it or you
are just so use to it and you do not want to switch or learn now to
use a new gadget. After unlocking your cell phone, you can now
take it over to the other GSM carrier and use it with their services.
Often in cases of PDAs, you are now just used to it, you have all your
information stored on that device and you cannot live without that
information, but the fee’s just killing you.
Now you are in control, not your cell phone company. You can switch
networks without having to worry about changing phones.

On the AT&T Network, to unlock the LG Shine or CU720, its pretty simple:
Put a AT&T or Cingular SIM in the phone; it does not have to be an active SIM
Enter *#865625# then the 16 digit unlock code*
Device should say: Network Lock Deactivated
Phone may automatically reboot
*The 16 digit code can be obtained by calling AT&T Technical Support and given the representative the IMEI number. In exchange they will give you the Subsidy Unlock Code.
To obtain the IMEI number, type *#06# on your device. This 16 digit number is not the same as the unlock code, this is the IMEI number to give to AT&T Technical Support in exchange for the 16 digit Subsidy Unlock Code.

whoever said cell phone carriers do not have hidden fee’s has no clue.
I have seen the hidden charges or over charges have you with ATT.
We changed our rate plan to less minutes ever since then our bill has been higher.

You just have to …
You just have to call AT&T customer service from another phone, and they will tell you to put the sim card of another carrier into the phone. Then follow all the steps listed in the video. As long as you have another sim card (I used T-Mobile) your phone never needs to be activated in the first place.
